Hello Taradale School Families, We have been busy since returning from Spring Break! Our Grade 4’s had a fabulous time at Heritage Park. Thank you to all the parent volunteers who joined our trips! The Grade 1 classrooms also welcomed Duck Eggs to our school. Students have been busy observing the duck eggs and learning about life cycles while we patiently wait for the eggs to hatch. We are also preparing for our Sound Kreations In-School Residency that begins next week. 2025-26 School Planning As we embark on the planning process for the upcoming school year, it is very important that we know if you are planning to return to Taradale School. Bridge Club Our 2nd session of Bridge Club is underway. The program is now full, and Bridge Club is not accepting anymore registrations. Bell Times and Transportation You received an email from CBE with information about a change in bell times for 2025-26 school year. Our new bell times will be 8:10 am – 2:40 pm. More information will be forthcoming about our lunch times and kindergarten hours. Sound Kreations Residency Forms were sent home on Friday about our upcoming Sound Kreations Residency. This is an extension of our Physical Education program, and is part of the curricululm. Please ensure you return all forms by Friday, April 11 so that your child can participate in this amazing program. Attendance Under the Education Act, it is an Alberta Education expectation that all students under the age of 16 attend school every day. This includes our half-day Fridays. Even though students are only in school for the morning; there is still important learning that is taking place. Please make it a priority to ensure your child attends all days of school. If your child is going to be away, please call out Attendance line 403-777-6270 option 1. Early Pick up If you are coming to the school to pick up your child early, you must come to the office. As a new process, we are asking parents to sign your child out. We have a SIGN-OUT BOOK as you come into the office. Students will not be released from their dismissal doors. Please ring the bell and let the office know you are here to pick up your child. Dismissal Students are dismissed at 3:00 pm. The students must stay in their meeting spot with their supervisor until they see a parent. It is very important that families are on time to pick up students. Safety Student and staff safety is one of the most important things we do at school. We recognize that the traffic is very busy at dismissal time. If you are driving to pick up your child, please ensure you are parking so that you are not obstructing the flow of traffic, and the crosswalk. We will not let the children to come to your car in the middle of the road. You must park and come and meet your child. The crosswalk supervisors are doing their best to ensure everyone is safe. Please be patient, and we will ensure we are being efficient with crossing the street. We all have a role to play in student and staff safety. School Council Our April School Council meeting is April 29 at 6:15 pm. You will be able to access the meeting online through Microsoft Teams or in person at the school. The link will be sent out prior to our meeting. Thank you! Karen Bose and Tara Vandertoorn
