Hello Taradale Families, Taradale School is very busy with events for the last month of school. Our Grade 2’s visited Heritage Park yesterday, and our Grade 1 students are excited for their field trip next week. The Grade 1 classrooms learned about life cycles while we hatched our Duck Eggs into Ducklings. It was an amazing experience for all of our students at Taradale. Please read the important updates below: 2025-26 School Planning As we embark on the planning process for the upcoming school year, it is very important that we know if you are planning to return to Taradale School. Please email the school at Taradale@cbe.ab.ca if you are not returning next year. School Council Our May School Council meeting is April 27 at 6:15 pm. This is a great meeting to attend! We have a guest speaker giving a presentation at 6:45. Michael Kim, Outreach Programs Manager at Youthlink Calgary. Youthlink is an organization that teaches the community how to stay safe. This presentation will outline information about gangs and social media. You will be able to access the meeting online through Microsoft Teams or in person at the school. The link will be sent out prior to our meeting. Please click on the link below for access to the meeting: Bridge Club Bridge Club officially ended for the year on May 14. We have been fortunate to have Bridge Club work with our students this year. We are looking forward to Bridge Club returning in the fall for students in Grades 1-4. Bell Times and Transportation Our new bell times for next year are: 8:10-2:40 We are confirming our lunch times and will provide you with that information in the coming days. Sound Kreations Residency We were able to have Sound Kreations work with our students for 2 weeks in April. Our students enjoyed the movement education that Sound Kreations provided and were excited to perform for an audience. Attendance Under the Education Act, it is an Alberta Education expectation that all students under the age of 16 attend school every day. This includes our half-day Fridays. Even though students are only in school for the morning; there is still important learning that is taking place. Please make it a priority to ensure your child attends all days of school. If your child is going to be away, please call out Attendance line 403-777-6270 option 1. Early Pick up If you are coming to the school to pick up your child early, you must come to the office. As a new process, we are asking parents to sign your child out. We have a sign-out book as you come into the office. Students will not be released from their dismissal doors. Please ring the bell and let the office know you are here to pick up your child. Dismissal Students are dismissed at 3:00 pm. The students must stay in their meeting spot with their supervisor until they see a parent. It is very important that families are on time to pick up students. Safety Student and staff safety is one of the most important things we do at school. We recognize that the traffic is very busy at dismissal time. If you are driving to pick up your child, please ensure you are parking so that you are not obstructing the flow of traffic, and the crosswalk. We will not let the children to come to your car in the middle of the road. You must park and come and meet your child. The crosswalk supervisors are doing their best to ensure everyone is safe. Please be patient, and we will ensure we are being efficient with crossing the street. We all have a role to play in student and staff safety. Upcoming Events: · Grade 4 will be visiting the Calgary Public Library next week. Watch for an email from your child’s teacher. o Garberg-May 26 o Woodruff – May 27 o Al Najar – May 28 o Penford – May 29 o Berti – May 30
