Transportation
With the new walk zone limits, some families are eligible for transportation services. You must be over 1.6 km. You can find the walk zone on Find a School on the cbe webpage. If you received an email with information that you are eligible for transportation, please follow the directions to register for transportation by June 22 in MyCBE/PowerSchool. If you would like to access transportation, it is important to register before this deadline so your child can be added to the bus route. If you have questions or are having trouble with registration, please call the school.
Please see this link for busing and transportation information https://www.cbe.ab.ca/schools/busing-and-transportation/Pages/general-transportation.aspx
Attendance Under the Education Act, it is an Alberta Education expectation that all students under the age of 16 attend school every day. This includes our half-day Fridays. Even though students are only in school for the morning; there is still important learning that is taking place. Please make it a priority to ensure your child attends all days of school. If your child is going to be away, please call out Attendance line 403-777-6270 option 1.
Early Pick up If you are coming to the school to pick up your child early, you must come to the office. As a new process, we are asking parents to sign your child out. We have a sign-out book as you come into the office. Students will not be released from their dismissal doors. Please ring the bell and let the office know you are here to pick up your child. Safety Student and staff safety is one of the most important things we do at school. We recognize that the traffic is very busy at dismissal time. If you are driving to pick up your child, please ensure you are parking so that you are not obstructing the flow of traffic, and the crosswalk. We will not let the children to come to your car in the middle of the road. You must park and come and meet your child. The crosswalk supervisors are doing their best to ensure everyone is safe. Please be patient, and we will ensure we are being efficient with crossing the street. We all have a role to play in student and staff safety.
